The National Conservation Easement Database (NCED) is an initiative of the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities. Additional financial support has been provided by the Peter and Carmen Lucia Buck Foundation; the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation; the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation; the Knobloch Family Foundation; the Graham Foundation; the USDA Forest Service, State and Private Forestry; the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Landscape Conservation Cooperative; and the U.S. Geological Survey. The NCED team also collaborates with the USGS National Gap Analysis Program (GAP) Protected Areas Database – United States (PAD-US) on data acquisition and standards.

NCED Easements

The NCED Portal tracks easements across the landscape. The NCED portal allows users to browse for easements by maps, keywords, or pre-defined (quick) searches, conduct advanced searches, and add easements via a simple entry form.

Browse by Maps

The Browse by Maps feature allows a user to search for a specific easement or easements tied to a specified location.

Advanced Search

The advanced search function allows a user to choose the data fields that they would like to be included in a search.

Download NCED Data

The NCED Easement data is available for download from this page. The data is available in several formats and data from distinct regions in available.

A user can easily enter an easement into the NCED database through the easement entry form.
